Read what our customers have to say about Petticoat-Schmit...

“Petticoat Schmitt was selected as the lead contractor for the SRF Lift Station Improvements Group 4 project in St. Johns County. Mrs. Carlson and her staff were well qualified for the project and handled the delivery of the project very well. She was always available to answer any questions and was quick to respond to any requests.

Petticoat Schmitt provided qualified personnel with plenty of experience to complete the project in a timely manner. Construction crews worked professionally on-site and were able to address problems when they were encountered. I highly recommend Petticoat Schmitt for any construction projects. They are reliable, knowledgeable and provide a quality finished product.”

“I have worked with Petticoat-Schmitt for about fifteen years. During those years they have handled themselves in a very professional manner. They are knowledgeable and capable of what is required of them to construct the project ahead of them. Their employees have a vast amount of experience and knowledge to know what is to be done to complete the job on time and within budget. They have constructed several joint projects for JEA and the City of Jacksonville. While constructing these projects they always kept an open mind toward the resolution of any conflicts known and/or unknown that arose. Petticoat-Schmitt partners with the owner to achieve the best job possible.”

“I previously had the privilege of working with Petticoat-Schmitt Civil Contractors, Inc. on a Multi-Fin Intersection Improvement Project in St. Johns County. During construction of these projects, Petticoat-Schmitt Civil Contractors, Inc. provided quality, experience staff to oversee and construct the projects according to the Contract Plans, Specifications and Florida Design Standards. The construction staff orchestrated their work safely and professionally with minimum impact to the traveling public.”

“On October 17, 2011, Petticoat – Schmitt was awarded a utility/roadway beautification contract in the downtown area with the City of Jacksonville Beach in the amount of $4,400,107.37. Over the past two years, the city has approved several additional phases of work to the original contract which was generated by the city. During the construction phases of this project, the management and supervision has performed extremely well in the scheduling, installation, cleanup and the public relations aspect of the work. Randy Milner, Project Superintendent has always been very responsive to the city’s concerns and taken immediate steps to expedite the resolution to any concerns or complaints. Any change orders generated within this project were city generated and reasonably priced by the contractor. I always look forward to Petticoat-Schmitt Civil Contractors, Inc., submitting bids for our projects and look forward to working with them in the future.”

The total project cost was 3.72 million dollars and included roadway construction, brick paver sidewalks, concrete sidewalks, mast arm assemblies, overhead lane use signals, fiber optic communication, street lighting, landscaping and irrigation. The project was completed on schedule and most of the change orders were owner requested.
